Talya Richie, NP-C

Talya grew up in San Antonio, TX. She has always been passionate about learning and entered Texas A&M in Fall of 2010 as a Sophomore and graduated with her Bachelor of Science Degree in Health in December 2012. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in Spring 2014.

She began her nursing career at Baylor University Center in Dallas where she worked for three years. She then decided to work closer to home and began working at Medical City Arlington in 2017. Talya worked the majority of her nursing career in the Neuro/Trauma ICU until she graduated with her Masters of Nursing specializing in Adult Gerontology Acute Care from The University of Texas at Arlington.

She joined DTC in May 2020. She chose Endocrinology because she wanted to transition to care for patients in an outpatient setting to hopefully prevent them from being admitted to the ICU in the future. She ha seen first hand what endocrine dysregulation can do to the body.

She believes that health begins at home and with proper nutrition and routine physical activity, health complications can be minimized. She believes that patients do best with an empathetic provider who can tailor the plan of care to specific patient needs. She feels as though with encouragement, education,  lifestyle modifications, and appropriate medication, patients can begin to reach their health goals.

Outside of work she loves spending time with her husband and two children. They try to be outside as much as possible. She enjoys reading and challenges herself to finish multiple books weekly. She also enjoy strength training and HIIT workouts.
