Suzanne Weldon RD, LD, CDCES

Suzanne grew up in Orange, TX. She took her first nutrition course at Texas A&M & fell in love with the study of nutritional science. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Science in December of 2005 with the intention of becoming a Registered Dietitian.

After graduation, Suzanne began her dietetic internship program in 2006 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. She then began working in the diabetes field & became a “CDE” which is now known as a Certified Diabetes Care & Education Specialist. She has been in the diabetes & endocrinology field for over fifteen years. Suzanne has worked at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas Diabetes Education Center & at Christus Trinity Mother Frances Endocrinology in Tyler, TX. She has also worked in private practice, at WIC, & as a group fitness instructor at the YMCA.

Suzanne joined DTC in July 2015. She is passionate about providing the most up-to-date & scientific evidence-based diabetes education & medical nutrition therapy for endocrine disorders. She also is a Certified Product Trainer for insulin pumps, CGMs, & other diabetes devices. Not only does Suzanne have over fifteen years of professional experience in the endocrinology field, but she has had type one diabetes for over thirty-five years. Suzanne is one of her patients’ biggest cheerleaders for success in their health, nutrition, & fitness goals.

Suzanne is married to her high school sweetheart & mother of two girls. She enjoys cooking, hiking, skiing, swimming, HIIT, reading, & spending time with family & friends. Suzanne is also active in women’s & youth ministries at church.
